Cordyceps sex ,sport,tetosterone
Cordyceps Sinensis is a fungus that infects a butterfly called “ghost moth”, where it then grows inside, eventually mummifying the whole thing. What’s left from that process is the actual fruity body of this medicinal mushroom that has huge value in the Chinese medicine.
Cordyceps was once one of the most priciest foods known to a man, because it was so hard to harvest but yielded so many benefits that even the Chinese emperor had his own group of men and their job was to only harvest different species of Cordyceps for the Emperor. Fortunately it’s not that expensive anymore as we are now capable of growing it ourselves, however the fact that Cordyceps can be grown by anyone, means that there’s huge market with low quality Cordyceps waiting for the hungry buyers.
That’s why it’s essential to look for real Cordyceps Sinensis instead of the shit grown on laboratories.
Cordyceps Sinensis Benefits
You might think that this is just some plain ordinary mushroom, but let me tell you, it’s not anywhere near ordinary at all – just ask the Chinese runners Wang Junxia, Qu Junxia, and Zhang Linli who broke 9 world records in the 1993 Chinese National Games and the Stuttgart World Championship – those athletes passed all the doping tests and the media was furious, everyone was certain that the runners had used doping, eventually the doctor of the Chinese athletes opened his mouth – he told the media that there was this certain medicinal mushroom with performance enhancing benefits called Cordyceps Sinensis, which was responsible for the sudden success of the Chinese runners.
So why did the doctor give Cordyceps to those runners then?
Cordyceps Sinensis Improves Energy levels
Cordyceps is an adaptogen, which basically means that it’s a mushroom that helps your body overcome stressful situations. Adaptogens are much like coffee, although much stronger while having the ability to release constant energy to the body, instead of crashing like coffee and other stimulants do.
That’s not all there is to cordycep’s energy boosting benefits, as there’s also this compound called cordysepsin in the actual mushroom, which has been shown to increase ATP levels by 50%! ATP’s are coenzymes that transport energy from cell to cell, so basically this medicnial mushroom increases the enzymes that send energy between cells by 50% which is quite amazing from a natural substance.
Then there’s this mice study where the researchers divided bunch of rodents in to two groups, the other one was fed a control diet with no additives, and the another one got the same kind of control feed with added cordyceps extract – those researchers then put the rodents in to a space filled with water where it would be “impossible” to escape, meaning that the mice would have to swim until exhaustion.
After a series of these water tests, the researchers concluded that the group which received Cordyceps extract in their feed was able to swim significantly longer distances before exhaustion.
Cordyceps Speeds Up Recovery
There’s a lot of user testimonials from athletes at the site of Four Sigma Foods, which is a superfood company challenging athletes to do these 30 day challenges with certain medicinal mushrooms etc. Almost all of the testimonials that are coming from athletes state the feelings of much faster recovery times.
There’s also a Chinese study where they tested Cordyceps with the elderly. After 30 days of using Cordyceps a staggering 92% of the test subjects reported that their fatigue had completely gone.
Cordyceps Improves Your Oxygen Utilization
The Journal of Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, reported back in 2004, that the extract of Cordyceps Sinensis was able to increase the oxygen utilization of athletes by a respectable 50%
Back in 1999 The same journal reported that Cordyceps Sinensis was able to improve the aerobic capacity of the elderly by 7%.
Cordyceps Improves Cardiovascular Health
The Journal of Alternative Complementary Medicine also reports that Cordyceps Sinensis has long term benefits for your cardiovascular system, as it lowers total cholesterol levels by 20% and increases HDL cholesterol by 25%.
Cordyceps Sinensis Boosts Testosterone Production
Researchers at the Cheng Kung University in Taiwan exposed extracts of Cordyceps Sinensis to leydig cells of rats, they found out that the fungus actually produced similar effects as Luteinizing Hormone (LH) which is responsible for your testosterone production inside testicles.
The image above shows that it took 3 hours for Cordyceps Sinensis extract to reach its peak in testosterone boosting benefits, just like the Luteinizing Hormone does too – researchers then figured out that Cordyceps Sinensis contains sugars that resemble LH and imitate the way that the actual hormone works inside testicles.
Those Taiwanese researchers didn’t stop there. Next on they tested Cordyceps Sinensis testosterone boosting effects on live mice, what they found out was that Cordyceps increases testosterone levels significantly even when supplemented orally, as the compounds that stimulate those leydig cells actually manage to survive trough the harsh conditions of our gastrointestinal system.
The conclusion from those Taiwanese researchers was this; “Cordyceps most certainly is a natural substance able to increase testosterone production in men”.
Cordyceps Sinensis Lowers Heart Rate
This is something that not many natural substances can do, as there’s tons of evidence of Cordyceps significantly lowering the heart rates of athletes. I didn’t believe this claim for myself, but after a month of drinking Cordyceps tea, my heart rate did actually drop from ~50 to ~43 that’s a quite big improvement considering that my heart rate was already quite low.
But don’t take it from me, there’s also this personal trainer from Ireland called Andy Kenny who tested Cordyceps while monitoring his heart rate very closely, he noted that after one week Cordyceps Sinensis lowered his resting heart rate by 5-8 bpm.
Cordyceps Improves Sexual Performance
Cordyceps contains a compound called “Mannitol” which has an osmotic effect in the body, Mannitol in clinical research has shown to improve blood flow, especially the blood flow to the pelvic area. Combine that with the increase in testosterone and energy Cordyceps is able to produce, and you have yourself one hell of a supplement!
Cordyceps Has Very Strong Antioxidant Effects
Cordyceps has been reported to have very strong antioxidant effects, but it’s not certain, which part of the mushroom is actually responsible from these effects.
Cordyceps Supports your Lungs
Cordyceps amazed the scientist when it actually increased maximal oxygen intake (VO2) of the test subjects by 15% in a clinical trial. This is the reason why so many asthma patients react so well to Cordyceps Sinensis.
Then there’s also this guy, called John Lewis who boosted his VO2 max by 27% when he tested out Cordyceps.
Conclusion
Cordyceps Sinensis very likely increases testosterone levels and brings along a huge list of studied health benefits. Based on my own experiences with this medicinal mushroom, I’d say that it’s one of the best overall supplements for men – eversince I tested cordyceps for the first time it has been on my supplement stack and most likely will stay there for long.
